Final phase of the new construction of the European Patent Office completed.

With the installation of the waterfall in the new pond as icing on the cake, the final phase of the new construction of the European Patent Office (EPO) in Rijswijk has been completed. This means that the realization of one of the largest office projects in the Netherlands for the largest international organization based in the Netherlands, by  TBI companies J.P. van Eesteren and Croonwolter&dros, a fact. For a project of 90,000 square meters of office space and 1,750 workplaces, the complex was completed in a very short time. Design and construction of the office building were completed within five years. The foundation stone was laid on 25 June 2014 by Prime Minister Mark Rutte, after which the new main building was opened in June 2018 in the presence of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander. The final phases of the project involved the demolition of the old office building dating from 1973 (a few meters from the new building), the new construction of the underground technical rooms and bicycle shed, the landscaping and the realization of a 16,000 m2 pond with a waterfall. of 315 meters in length.
